| This is a barrel block designed and manufactured by GRE’-TAN RIFLES. This system allows the action to float free of the stock rearward of the block. The barrel floats free forward of the bedding block. Several benefits result: the barrel, for want of a better description, "thinks it is shorter than it actually is" and is thus stiffer and subject to less vibration given its actual length. Also, because the action is not secured to the stock, there is no stress that could otherwise be transmitted to the action and thus the barrel. |
